Chester Ashley Wright is reported to have died in Eagle Town, Indian Territory, and buried in Tom Grier's pasture near the Youngblood place west of Davis, Oklahoma.

Due to the fact that Dr. Tom P. Howell, a brother-in-law of Mr. Wright, later donated land in this general location for use as a cemetery to the people of the community of Oak Ridge, I think it's reasonable that Mr. Wright's burial may have been the beginning of Oak Ridge Cemetery.

He was the son of Claiborne & Harriet Hannah Brown Wright, and the brother of John Claiborne Wright. Chester and John married sisters, Mary C. and Arabella Pitchlynn Howell.
