Age 84, a town of Dewey farmer for many years, died Thursday morning at 6:20 o'clock. He had been in ill health the past year at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Florian Lasecke, 723 Sixth Avenue, with whom he had been making his home. His condition became serious two days befoe his death. Mr. Shemanski was born on April 23, 1856, in Poland. He was married in his native country to Miss Henrietta Tork and the couple came to this country 57 years ago. They came directly to Portage county and located on a farm in Dewey where Mr. Shemanski farmed until about two and a half years ago when he came to Stevens Point to live with the Laseckes. Mrs. Shemanski died March 29, 1921. They were the parents of 13 children, eight of whom survive. They are Mrs. Frank (Anna) Przybylski 1206 Water Street; Mrs. John (Mary)Przybylski of Dancy; John Shemankski of City Point; Mrs. Stella Shuda, 323 Water Street; Mrs. Joe (Lucy) Kalina, Michigan Avenue; Mrs. Dominick (Catherine) Shuda of the town of Hull; Mrs. Martin (Bertha) Wietrzykowski, 309 South Pear Street; and Mrs. Elizabeth Lasecke, 723 Sixth Avenue. He also is survived by 51 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday evening at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Torun and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The body is at the Pris funeral home.
