Charles Wesley King was the son of Carter Beverly and Nancy Caroline Ferguson King. He married Josephine Lonora Hillard ( b.1867 in LA., d.Aug. 1894 in TX.),on Aug. 9, 1884. Nancy Caroline's father was James Alexander Ferguson Jr. His father James Alexander Ferguson Sr, was an American Revolutionary Soldier from York County South Carolina and served under Col. Francis Marion "The Swamp Fox". He and his wife were murdered by Tories. Carter Beverly served in the Seminole War. His father John King served under Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812, and was at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. John's father was Henry "Harry" King from Virginia. He was the husband of Bettie Brown King. He served in the Patriot Army in the American Revolution.
