John was the son of William Doughald Cluxton & Ida Belle Behm. Although his death certificate shows that he was born in Brown Co., OH, that does not seem to be correct. On both his WWI and WWII draft registration cards, John reported that he was born in Adams Co.

He married Minnie Inez Cluxton, 4 Nov 1915, Adams Co., OH.

Their children included: Marguerite; Geneva; Wendell; John; Donald William; Harland; Norbert Dale; Paul Dean; & Phyllis Jean (Lowe).
