She was born July 4, 1915, the daughter of Frederick and Hazel (Barnes) Werner, in Logansport. She lived in Tipton until 1941, before moving to Anderson. In 1976, she retired from Fort Benjamin Harrison.
Jeanne was a member of Daleville Christian Church, Eagles Lodge, Gabbie Club and Rangeline Community Center and was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed painting, crafts, ceramics and fishing.
She is survived by a son, Larry J. (Edna Carey) Eshelman of Pendleton; three daughters, Rita Ashby of Anderson, Nita J. (Doug) Pickering of Markleville and Mary Kay (Lynn) Antrim of Daleville; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and two step-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Joseph Eshelman; three sisters, Helen Wheeldon, Ruth Kreppel and Mildred McCord; three brothers, Frederick Werner, Albert Werner and Dale Werner; grandson, Greg Eshelman; and great-granddaughter, Angela Anderson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McManus officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
