Henry Osborn
Henry osborn was born in Westville, Otsego Co., N.Y., November 17, 1845, and spent his long and useful life in Westville, on the farm of his father, where he was born, and which he owned at the time of his death, September 13, 1903. He married Miss Getty E. Becker October 21st, 1863, a noble helpmeet, who survives him. To them were born two children, Mrs. Jacob M. Baldwin of Westville and Herman Osborn of Westville. Mr. Osborn was a man of more than ordinary intellectual endowment, a student, a great lover and reader of choice literature, with which his mind was well stored, and being of a clear analytical turn of mind, was enable to delightfully entertain his many friends. He despised shows and hypocrisy of every kind, loving truth and nobility of character. he was the truest of friends and loved for his exemplary life that embodied his high ideals. For two years he served the town of Middlefield as supervisor, and helf other offices. he was a member of the masonic fraternit, and is widely mourned, have a large circle of friends, who deeply sympathize with the dereaved family. The sickness was short, pneumonia soon doing its work. The funeral was held at his late residence Thursday Sept. 17th, and conducted, by Rev. F.H. Parsons of Greene, assisted by Rev. W.H. Alger.
