ALVIN BATES MONAHANS (Staff) -Services for Alvin Waine Bates, 71, of Monahans. were to be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Ratcliff Baptist Church in Ratcliff.
He was dead on arrival at Ward Memorial Hospital Friday after an illness. Born June 3, 1905, in Forest, he was married to Loree Bates on Oct. 18, 1930, in Marysville, La. He was a retired grocery store, owner and operator.Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Whitlock of Monahans and Mrs. Linda Bowden of Beaumont; three sisters, Mrs. Mazie Montgomery of Ratcliff, Mrs. Adell Petty of, Wells and Mrs. Doris Green of Winter Haven, Fla. and five grandchildren:
