CONWAY-John Paisley "Pete" Bacot, 79, a retired employee of the SC Department of Highways and Public Transportation and a retired SC National Guardsman, died Wednesday in a Conway hospital. The funeral will be at noon Saturday in Lakeside Cemetery. Burial will be directed by Goldfinch's Conway Chapel.
Mr. Bacot was born in Horry County, a son of George Alexander Bacot and Sally Snowden Bacot. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lucia Cross Bacot; two sons, John P Bacot Jr. of Surfside Beach and Howard C Bacot of Atlanta; a daughter, Lucia B Bacot of Myrtle Beach; a brother, Errol Bacot of Columbia; a sister, Anna B Blankeney of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren.
