Mom always told us her grandmother was full blooded Choctaw and this has to be the one she was talking about. During research on my family tree I found Mattie living in Cherokee Indian territory. My grandfather ( Mattie's grandson) William Anderson Howard Sr looked like he was half Native American. Mattie was the daughter of JW and Sally Benge.
