Brainerd was a son of John Giggey.

He was married 20 Mar 1825 at Wakefield Parish, Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada to Sally Farley.

They had at least 8 children:

13 Jun 1860-Fort Fairfield, Aroostook County, Maine

Brainerd passed on the 11th of February in the year of 1862 in Fort Fairfield. Aroonstook County, Maine. His wife Sarah 'Sally' outlived Brainerd by 25 years and married a 2nd time.

The Memorial of Brinaird Guiggy
That your Memorial was born in this Province and is subject to the crown of Great Britian, that he now is and for the last five years has been an (Inhabitant)of Wakefield in the county of York, that he is a single man and of the age of twenty one years and never had any land from the crown, and humbly , pray that he may have 200 acres of vacant wilderness, land, situated in near of Simeon Brooks and Elijah Tompkins, on the east side of the river Saint John in Wakefield a for said. Your memorialist is of the ability and it is his intention forth which to culture and improve said land according to the royal instructions, and has not directly or indirectly bargained or agreed for the sale or transfer there of to any person or persons what so ever. And in duty bound and pray . Brinard Guiggy (His Mark)
York C., 26 Sept 1820. Brinard Guiggy appeared before me and made an Oath to the contents of the above memorial.
