Maurice James Frankel, 75, St. Augustine, died May 24, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Boston, Mass., and he had resided here since 1984. He was a graduate of Northeastern University, Boston, and he was retired from the State of Massachusetts, having worked in the welfare department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II, and he was a former member of the St. Augustine Shores Riverview Club and former president of NARFE Chapter 33.
Private services were held with Rabbi Samuel Cywiak, Congregation Sons of Israel, officiating. Burial was in St. Augustine Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Frankel, St. Augustine; two stepsons, George Lonquist, Saddle River, N.J., Richard Lonquist, Coventry, R.I.; and four grandchildren.
Craig Funeral Home was in charge.
