She was born on Oct. 14, 1899, in Hayton, daughter of John and Catherine Lau Rickert Muehdel. Following the death of her mother when she was an infant, she was raised by her uncle and aunt, John and Margaret Lau Sachs, rural Chilton. After teaching in Calumet County and north central Wisconsin for several years, she taught in the Akron elementary schools until retirement. She never married.
She is survived by a nephew, Edward H. Rickert, Park Falls; and other relatives and friends in Park Falls, Chilton, and the New Holstein areas.
Funeral services were held in Akron on Wednesday. Graveside services were held Friday afternoon at the New Holstein City Cemetery.
