Lawrence R. Brumitt, 72, of 2612 Slevin St., died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was a native of Evansville, Ind., and a retired carpenter. Survivors include his wife, the former Ursula Ayers; a son, James L. Brumitt; two stepsons, Richard and Roy L. Pippin; a brother, Walter Brumitt of Evansville; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Effinger of Evansville, Mrs. Mildred Basham and Mrs. Dorothy Bennett, both of McDaniels, and Mrs. Mary A. Basham; and a grandchild. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady Portland Funeral Home, 518 N. 26th St., with burial in Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
