Ira Edward Ira Edward Carbaugh, age 57 years, Smithsburg, Route 2, died of a heart attack while in the yard of his home; He had been in failing health for several months, suffering from a heart condition. He was born In Adams County, Pennsylvania, the son of James and Preathy (Daywalt) Carbaugh. His early life was lived in Adams County and for the past twenty years he had lived at his late residence. He was self employed by operating a truck. He was a member of the Church of God Hagerstown. He is survived by his wife Thelma (Olt) Carbaugh; sons Clarence, York, Pa.; Harry, Winchester, Va.; Charles, Robert, Harold, Lawrence and Fred at home; daughters, Mrs. Mary Spessard and Loretta at home; mother, Mrs. James Carbaugh, Route 2; sisters. Mrs. Myrtle Codori and Mrs. Mary Neikirk, Smithsburg, Route 2; brother, Keller Carbaugh, Smithsburg, Route 2 and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 from the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, and The Rev. C. M. McGala will officiate and Internment will be .made in the Smithsburg Cemetery, Friends may call Monday evening from 7 to 9 at the Grove Funeral Home.
