High Point - Mr. Stoney Sanford Boone, 65, of 6111 Appletree Ct., died Sunday, August 9, 2009 at his home, following an illness of three years.
He was born in Cheraw, SC on March 13, 1944 to the late Lonnie Norman and Viola Quick Boone. A resident of this area most of his life, he was a self-employed paint contractor and attended Charity Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Edna Rose Hall Boone, of the home; daughters, Kathy Ann Boone of Laurinburg, Sandra Jean Clark of Cheraw, SC, Theresa Weeks and husband David of Thomasville, Elizabeth Loflin of Thomasville, Jennifer Calloway of High Point; sons, George Howard Boone of Florence, SC and Jay Hall and wife Susan of Thomasville; brother, Harvey Norman Boone of Thomasville; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 11th, at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Elton Wilborne officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 10th at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, and other times at the home.
