A. M. Beckerdite, 75, Has Passed Away
Funeral services for Alexander M. Beckerdite, 75 years old, father of E. E. Beckerdite of Jones, were held Friday afternoon at the Jones Christian church, Rev. Carlton, a Baptist minister of Oklahoma City, officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Mr. Beckerdite passed away last Wednesday night at the home of his daughter Mrs. Harry Branigin, in Oklahoma City. He had been in failing health many months. Mr. Beckerdite located in Jones thirty-five years ago, coming here from Ritchie, Mo. He acted as Frisco agent several years, and after leaving that work he was employed by a large hardware firm at Yale. Later he served as deputy treasurer of Payne county. For several years he had lived on his farm east of Jones. In addition to Mr. E. E. Beckerdite and Mrs. Branigin, he is survived by three sons, A. M. Beckerdite Jr. and William A. Beckerdite, both of Oklahoma City, and James D. Beckerdite of Altus. The relatives have the sympathy of all in their sad loss.
