Evelyn Mae Campbell, daughter of Isaac and Rose (Cooper) Garriott, was born on October 3, 1922 in Half Rock, Missouri. She received her education in a rural school near her home.

On October 3, 1939, Evelyn married Vesper Earl Campbell in Indianola, Iowa. To this marriage nine children were born, six who died in infancy; one son, Isacc; and two daughters, Peggy and Rose.

The family made their home in various communities in Iowa where Earl worked as a farm laborer. These communities included, Grinnell, Jamaica, Milo, Monroe, Montezuma, Perry, Rippey, and Rockwell City. Evelyn spent the last year living in Long Term at Greene County Medical Center where she quickly became popular among the staff and residents. Regardless where she resided, Evelyn lived a rewarding life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, six children and her husband. Her survivors include 1 son, Isaac (Betty) Campbell of Grinnell; 2 daughters, Peggy Campbell and Rose (Harold) Norgart of Jefferson; 2 grandsons, Kim Gilliland and Robert Gilliland; 5 granddaughters, Annette Merical, Crystal Reardon, Dawn Hannum, Mindy Bower and Misty Thompson; 16 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.
