Born in Valley View, September 17, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Jenny Snyder Schwalm.
She was a former farmer, local factory worker and a retired letter carrier.
She was a lifetime member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, and a member of the former Lykens Valley Grange as well as the state and national Grange.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L. John, in 1980; three sisters, Edith Rosenbluth, Bertha Goudy and Florence Morgan; two brothers, Calvin and Henry Schwalm.
Surviving are a daughter, Marie Runkle of Sellersville; a sister, Jane Curran of Levittown; three brothers, Wayne Schwalm of Mineral Wells, TX, Fred Schwalm of Valley View, and Bruce Schwalm of Petersburg, VA.; two grandchildren; a great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 19, at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. George S. Reynolds officiating. Interment was in Simeon's Cemetery, Gratz.
