M. Isabel Romberger, 86, of Lykens, died Tuesday, June 15, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

Born in Valley View, September 17, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Jenny Snyder Schwalm.

She was a former farmer, local factory worker and a retired letter carrier.

She was a lifetime member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, and a member of the former Lykens Valley Grange as well as the state and national Grange.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L. John, in 1980; three sisters, Edith Rosenbluth, Bertha Goudy and Florence Morgan; two brothers, Calvin and Henry Schwalm.

Surviving are a daughter, Marie Runkle of Sellersville; a sister, Jane Curran of Levittown; three brothers, Wayne Schwalm of Mineral Wells, TX, Fred Schwalm of Valley View, and Bruce Schwalm of Petersburg, VA.; two grandchildren; a great-grandson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 19, at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. George S. Reynolds officiating. Interment was in Simeon's Cemetery, Gratz.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, PO Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983. Miller-Berger Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
