She was the daughter of Ervin P. Terwilliger and Josephine Roberts Terwilliger.
On August 18, 1925 as Dorothy O. Terwilliger, she married Thomas E. Beall at the District of Columbia.
They were the parents of two children.

Dorothy T. Beall, 88, a past President of the Woman's Club of Bethesda and an area resident since about 1920 died of cardiopulmonary arrest July 9 at Suburban Hospital. She lived in Bethesda. Mrs. Beall was a native of Redwing, Minnesota and had attended the University of Minnesota. She held clerical posts at the National Bureau of Standards in the mid to late 1920s.

An artist, she had sold her own oil paintings. She also had worked in ceramics. Her hobbies included gardening. Her husband, T. Emmert Beall, worked for the United States Patent Office and she had been a member of the Patent Office Women's Club.

Her husband died in 1986. Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Jr. of Arlington; a daughter, Anne Bastian of Gaithersburg; a sister, Rectina Gludt of Minnesota; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
