Horace T. Gilmer of Route 2, Hillsboro died Sunday in Coffee County Hospital after a short illness. He was 62 years old.
A native of Coffee County, he was a farmer and had retired on Jan. 25 from Numerical Control Inc in Tullahoma. He was a son of the late John L. and Sally Ann McDaniel Gilmer His wife, Mrs. Lucille Williams Gilmer died in 1972.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Manchester Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Bush, pastor of the Prairie Plains Baptist Church, and the Rev. Jerry Mayo, pastor of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include a son, John Edward Gilmer, Hillsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Bobby Langford, Hillsboro; four brothers, Paul, Carl, Herman and Tony Gilmer, Hillsboro; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Thurman, Hazel Park, Mich.; and seven grandchildren.
