Nightingale Service Held
Funeral services for Edward A. Nightingale, 82, of Carnegie were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at the Carnegie Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Bob Williams, officiated. Burial was in the Greenfield Mennonite Cemetery southeast of Carnegie.
Nightingale was born Feb. 6, 1893 in Indian Territory. He was married to Katie Schartner in 1919. He farmed in the Carnegie-Fort Cobb area until retirement in 1976 when he moved to Carnegie.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, Katie, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Velma Johnson of British Columbia, Mrs. Lola Redger of Durham, Kan., and Jo Ann Unruh of Halsted, Kan.; three sons, Elmer and Leo of Carnegie, and Vernon of Newton, Kan.; two brothers, Don of Montezuma, Kan., and John of Fort Cobb; two sisters, Dena Unruh of Carnegie and Minnie Koehn of Enid; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
