She was united in marriage to Tommy Earl on Feb 25, 1941, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek, Nebraska. They were married for fifty four happy years and to this union were born two daughters: Kathleen and Phyllis.
Elizabeth and Tommy farmed west of Elm Creek until they retired and moved to Elm Creek in 1980, where she maintained her own home until the time of her death. Elizabeth was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek and the Altar Society her whole adult life. She took care of the church's caring card ministry for the last 15 years.
Elizabeth enjoyed being involved with her family, cooking and especially baking, gardening and canning, embroidering tea towels and pot holders. No one left her house with an empty stomach as she enjoyed baking for the afternoon coffee breaks with family around the kitchen table.
Survivors are: daughters: Kathleen Harms and husband, Robert and Phyllis Shubert and husband, Dean all of Elm Creek; grandchildren: Rustin Harms of Elm Creek, Kyla (Shubert) Martin and husband, Tim of Amherst, Nebraska, Troy Shubert of Grand Island, Nebraska, Scott Shubert and wife, DeAnn of Elm Creek and Kimberly (Shubert) Ehnes and husband, Shawn of Julesburg, Colorado.
She found great joy in keeping up with the news of her 15 great-grandchildren: Chloe Harms of Elm Creek; Sadie, Ryan, Sydney and Sage Martin of Amherst, Bailey and Paige Shubert of Grand Island, Brooke, Brittani, Brett, Braden and Brecken Shubert of Elm Creek and Satara, Kierra and Keyanna Ehnes of Julesburg, CO.; sister, Eileen Lauby of Lexington, Nebraska and a host of friends and relatives.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tommy in 1994; five brothers and eight sisters.
