Josephine Allred Prinster 1918 ~ 2009 Josephine Allred Prinster passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at her home from causes incident to age. Jo was born to Birten and Sarah Anna Johnson Allred at the family home in Moab, Utah on February 6, 1918. She was the seventh child in a family of 10 surviving children. She grew up around Moab and attended Moab elementary and Grand County Junior and Senior High Schools, graduating as Valedictorian. She left Moab in 1937 and moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where she attended Ross Business College and worked in various jobs until her marriage to Paul Joseph Prinster of Grand Junction, Colorado, on November 7, 1940. They were married in Salt Lake City, Utah and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Jo was very active in the LDS Church in Grand Junction, serving in many positions in the primary, MIA, and stake and ward Relief Society. Jo and Paul moved to Bountiful, Utah in 1978 and were happy to live around children and grandchildren. She loved living in Bountiful and has enjoyed the many wonderful friendships with neighbors and friends. She was very service oriented and always had a couple of dozen frozen loaves of her special banana bread ready to defrost and deliver to someone who needed a little something. Jo moved to the Inn on Barton Creek in 2001 and was content to live in her cozy apartment. Four children were born to the couple, Paul Jeffrey Prinster (Allen) of Grand Junction, Colorado; Timothy Prinster (Betsy) of Center-ville, Utah; Pamela Jo Passey (now deceased) (William), and Patrick Prinster of Vancouver, British Columbia. Jo had 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul; daughter, Pam; and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where a visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to services.
