Mrs. Summers was born February 14, 1923, in Weakley County, daughter of the late William K. and Ruth Belle Taylor Peery. She was a graduate of Dresden High School, a homemaker, and a member of First Baptist Church in Martin.
Survivors include her husband, P. L. "Bill" Summers of Martin; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Deborah Summers of Grapevine, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Donnie McWherter of Martin; a brother, Harold Peery of Huntingdon; four grandchildren, Kevin McWherter of Nashville, Cory Summers and Chad Summers, both of Grapevine and Christy and her husband Chip Russell of Ft. Worth, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden Russell and Tyler Russell. A sister, Katherine Todd, also preceded her in death.
