Marie Fawcett Pollard, 88, of Dallas, passed away August 5, 2009. A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Tom Waitschies officiating. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel.

Marie was born in Hillsboro, Texas, to the late John and Kate (Burt) Fawcett. She was a resident of Dallas for 67 years and a faithful member of Southwood United Methodist Church. She was a devoted homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, following sports, gardening and working in the yard, but was especially dedicated to caring for her family. She worked for Southland Life Ins. for 16 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman W. Pollard in Aug. of 1993; five brothers; and two sisters.

Marie is survived by a son, Steve Pollard and wife, Marilyn, of Rowlett; daughter, Janice Hernandez and husband, Bert, of Lorena; grandchildren, Meghan Pollard, of Dallas, Stephanie Pollard, of Grand Prairie, Heather Andrzejewski and husband, Kevin, of Frisco, and Holly Hernandez, of Birmingham, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Stacey Andrzejewski; and a large extended family.
