BOUNTIFUL, Utah -- On October 22, 2003 our beautiful mother, grandmother and friend, LaRue T Piggott completed her mortal journey at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael W Beck, in Bountiful, Utah.
She was born May 3, 1915 in Bloomington, Idaho to Bertha Sophia Christensen and James A Thornock. She attended the local school in Bloomington and graduated from Fielding High School in Paris.
On December 20, 1033 she married her lifetime friend and sweetheart, Thomas Taylor Piggott, in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They were blessed with 11 children. LaRue cherished each of those precious souls, and her every thought and action was to help and bless her family. She demonstrated her devotion by providing a loving home filled with homemade bread, bottled fruit, wonderful pies and a homemade fudge that was everybody's favorite.
She enjoyed socializing with friends of the local church study group and loved to dance with her husband at the ward and stake Gold and Green Balls, where they often served as dance instructors.
Both were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings throughout the years, including service as ordinance workers in the Logan temple.
She leaves behind her children, Marlin Stock (Wayne O), Susan Beck (Michael W), Alain Porter (Dan C), Colleen Johnson (Jay), Mark C Piggott, Reed M Piggott (Danette); 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; five children, Richard, Ruth, Larry Thomas, Charles William and Stephen James; her parents, three brothers and her sister.
Funeral services were held October 27 at Noon in the Paris Stake Center and burial was in the Bloomington Cemetery.
