While in his youth, he moved to Tenney, Minn., and then to a farm west of Alta. His first employment was as a lineman with the Dunlap and Alta Telephone Company.
June 27, 1931, he was united in marriage to Grace Campbell.
He owned and operated the Dunlap Garage and Electric Company, which later became Davidson Sales and Service.
He was a member of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society, and the Dunlap Volunteer Fire Department.
He always worked hard, working beyond his strength to be of service, but he got his pleasure by trying to help others.
Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Patricia Shields of Arcola, two grandchildren; two brothers, Charles of Boken and Raymond of Peoria and a sister, Mrs. Mable Sauder of Peoria. A sister, Gladys, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held in the Schreiner Mortuary in Dunlap with Rev. Samuel Parker and Rev. James J. Gross officiating. Interment was in Prospect Cemetery.
