Funeral services were conducted here Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Isaac Bozeman Sauls, widow of the late Isaac Sauls, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. E. Thompson, of Tilton, Lawrence county. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. A. B. Sharp, Monticello. Burial was made in the Brady cemetery, south of Prentiss.
Mrs. Sauls was 61 years of age and was born and reared at Prentiss. She was a daughter of the late Judge J. S. Bozeman, of beloved memory, and his wife, who was previous to her marriage, Miss Emily Berry, sister of Mr. P. W. Berry and the late Mr. John L. Berry, all well known and prominent in this section. Mrs. Sauls was one of the thirteen children in the family and the first one to be taken by death. She was a member of the Methodist church. Her girlhood and early life was spent around Old Blountville and many of her early associates, school mates and friends, will sorrow with the family in her death. Her brother, John S. Bozeman, and a sister, Miss Ella Bozeman, are the only ones of the large family of children who yet reside at Prentiss.
Surviving are her children, five sons, J. S. Sauls, New York; Scott and Charles, Tilton; Webb, Jackson; Fred, Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. R. E. Thompson, Tilton; seven brothers, Sam Bozeman, Reydel, Ark.; Peter, Santa Monica, Calif.; Dudley, Foxworth; T. I., Canal Zone, Panama; P. W., Mobile; John S., Prentiss; W. S., Georgia; five sisters, Mrs. J. D. Therrell, Kosciusko; Mrs. Florence Saucier, Lumberton; Mrs. A. B. Welch, Hattiesburg; Miss Ella Bozeman, Prentiss; Miss Vilma Bozeman, New Orleans.
