Ivy Bacon Freeman, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the home of her daughter in Montpelier.

She was born November 26, 1901, in Nounan, to Brigham and Harriet Eliza Skinner Bacon. She married Archie LeRoy Freeman May 4, 1921, in Paris. This marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple January 9, 1964. She lived in Nounan until 1944 when the family moved to Montpelier.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, active in Relief Society, sang in the choir and loved to sew, quilt and make rugs. She worked at Bear Lake memorial Hospital from the time it was built in 1950 until she retired at the age of 65.

Survivors include two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Phyllis Weaver, Montpelier, Mrs. Bennie (Barbara) Comish, Grace; Verlin, Boise; and Douglas Jack, Las Vegas, Nev.; 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; one brother, Chauncey Bacon, Boise; one sister, Mrs. O'Neal (Aseneth) Kunz, Montpelier. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Blanche, and a son, Clyde, and three brothers, Lee, her twin Ivan, and Owen.

Funeral services were held December 29 in the Montpelier Second Ward Chapel with LaVere King conducting. Interment was in the Montpelier Cemetery where Kevin Bissegger dedicated the grave.

Pallbearers were Larry Passey, Randy Freeman, Twayne L. Taylor, Jack E. Freeman, Richard Comish and John Bissegger.

The Second Ward Relief Society had charge of the flowers and the funeral was directed by Matthews Mortuary.

ReNee Bird provided prelude and postlude music and Steven Freeman offered the family prayer.

"Abide With Me" and "God Be With You" were sung by the Second Ward Choir and Twayne L. Taylor gave the invocation.

ReNee Caldwell, a granddaughter, gave the obituary. Speakers were Bp. Gene H. Passey and Bp. Boyd H. Smart.

Mignon Jensen sang "Forgotten" and the benediction was give by Sam Caldwell.
