Mrs. Tena Robertson, beloved mother of Francis F. Robertson, died Thanksgiving day at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Witt, in Ortonville. She was more than 79 years of age at the time of her death which was caused by advanced age together with illness.
Tena Blume Robertson was born at Frankfort, Illinois, in April 1855. She lived there with her parents, brothers and sister, during her early childhood; later coming too Minnesota where they resided in Beaver Falls township for many years.
In 1874 she was united in marriage to Gustave A. Robertson. To this union five children were born.
In 1880 they moved to Peever, South Dakota, where they resided until 1891. They returned to Beaver Falls township and purchased the Butler homestead now owned by Francis Robertson.
In 1895 the first dark cloud of gloom was cast upon the family when Mrs. Henry Storch (Bertha), her oldest child passed away. In 1915, her husband died, Mrs. Robertson, with her son, Francis, remained on the farm until 1920 when they moved to Ortonville. She resided in her own home until April 1934, when she spent the rest of the months among her children.
In October she returned to Ortonville to the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Will, where she became ill on October 15. For six weeks she was seriously ill and all that loving hands could do was done, but to no avail. On Thursday morning, November 29, at five 0'clock she passed into eternal rest. All of her children except her son Francis, was with her when she died.
The body was brought to the Francis Robertson home Tuesday evening where the funeral was held 12:30 p.m., Saturday, with Rev. J.G.La____ of the Episcopal church officiating.
