Death of Harriett N. Kerr Womeldorff.
—Harriett Newell Kerr was born January 1. 1816, in Greene township, Gallia county, Ohio, and died December 28, 1898, near Chenoa. She was married to Daniel W. Womeldorff, March 9, 1836. To this union were born eight children, four sons and four daughters. Two sons and two daughters have preceded her to the "better land," and two sons and two daughters survive. Of these Mrs. Fannie Blake resides near Chenoa, Warren Womeldorff resides in Champaign county, Mrs. Maria Warner resides in Farmer City, and George Womeldorff resides near Chenoa, at whose home she died. She, with her husband and three children, came to Tremont, Tazewell county, in the fall of 1842. Her husband died and was buried at Tremont May 25, 1854. She joined the M. E. church at the age of 17, and has lived a consistent, Christian life ever since.
The funeral sermon was preached by Prof. M. P. Lackland of the Illinois Wesleyan university, of Bloomington.
