Mary Ellen Felter, 93, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at her residence.
Mary was born July 28, 1924 in Rosalia, Kansas to Richard Roy and Cora Belle Metcalfe Abraham. She had worked as a typist in the clerical field.
Mary lived in Amarillo, Texas before moving to Sabine County in 1983. She was a member of Fairdale Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and playing cards on Tuesday nights with her friends.
She is survived by her son, Roger Felter and wife, Sylvia, of Hemphill, Texas; son-in-law, Buzz Hudson of Hemphill; daughter, Yvonne Bonnie Woods and husband, Dennis, of Hemphill; sisters-in-law, Mary, Polly, and Linda; brother-in-law, Art; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Keith Felter; daughter, Rita Hudson; two sisters and seven brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Felter will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 in Fairdale Baptist Church, 4820 Fairdale Rd, Hemphill, TX with Zack Felter and Bobby Woods presiding and under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin prior to service starting at 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Following the service, Mrs. Felter will be buried beside her husband in Mt. Sinai Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are: Zack Felter, Bobby Woods, Clint Fowler, Burl Abraham, Buzz Hudson, and Sam Franklin.
