Norbert A. Balder, age 78, of Foley, died Monday July 5, 2004 at the Foley Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, July 8, 2004 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm. The Fr. Bernard Kahlhamer will officiate. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
Friends may call from 4 - 9 pm Wednesday at the Foley Funeral Home and 1 hour before services at church. Parish prayers will be 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Norbert Balder was born August 30, 1925 in rural Benton County to Robert and Elizabeth (Halfman) Balder. He was a US Army & Merchant Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He had worked at Ford Motor Co. for several years, Hoffman Engineering and DeZurik. He had also worked in Greenland on two occasions. Norbert was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm and the Foley American Legion Post 298.
He is survived by his sister, Elsie Kirchoff, Foley; and nieces and nephews; Robert Jr., Douglas, James, Mary, Catherine Rickert, Thomas, John, Cynthia, Annette Smith.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Mullen.
