Daniel Duff was the youngest child of E.C. and Drucilla Davidson Duff. He was awarded a commission to West Point after graduation from high school. In the summer of 1918 he volunteered for service in WWI and died of influenza while aboard ship in route to England. His body was returned for burial in Red Hill at the request of his family. Daniel never married, but he did father a son, Dorse Duff, who was adopted by Floyd Duff, his uncle, while Floyd was on his death bed.
