Muriel Roberts went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2009, peacefully at home. She was born Dec. 12, 1928, in Kissee Mills, the tenth child of Ethel and Mitch Thomas.
She attended Kissee Mills School and Forsyth High School. She was an Avon representative for several years and a home maker. After losing her husband she worked at Ben Franklin in Forsyth and Glen's Supermarket until her retirement in which she was able to enjoy many things including her great-granddaughters. She was a lifelong resident of Taney County and she loved living here.
She leaves behind a daughter and son in-law Judi and Terry Gentle of Livingston, Texas, a granddaughter Carri and her husband Kenny Davis, two great-granddaughters Emma and Katy Davis of Kirbyville, sister Marguerite Workman of Kissee Mills, a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. She also leaves behind two church families Kissee Mills Bible Church and Taneyville Union Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd and 10 brothers and sisters.
Memorial contributions can be made to Kissee Mills Bible Church Building Fund c/o Cheryl Liniger 2442 W. LaSalle, Springfield, MO 65807, or Skaggs Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at the Forsyth Whelchel Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 1, at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Kissee Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Forsyth Whelchel Funeral Chapel on Tues., March 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.
