GUY PATTERSON
Guy Edmond Patterson, son of John and Mary Elizabeth Patterson, was born October 24, 1884, near Chariton and died Sunday, May 2, 1965, at the Bell Rest Home in Chariton.
Mr. Patterson was united in marriage with Grace Edith White on January 24, 1906, and to this union three children were born; Elsie Pauline, who died at one month of age; Estalene (Mrs. Connell Pierschbacher) of Lacona; and Donovan, who died April of 1964.
Preceding him in death were five brothers and sisters.
Surviving besides his daughter are nine grandchildren; twelve great grand-children; one son-in-law, Connell; and one daughter-in-law, Wavil of Corydon; one sister, Mrs. Fern Yager of Anaheim, Calif.; two half-brothers, Howard of Ottumwa and Glenn of Mitchell, Nebr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Patterson was baptized when a small boy in the Oxford Methodist church and in young manhood accepted Jesus Christ as his saviour. He was a kind and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
A voice has been stilled and how much we will miss him. He had made his home at Bell's for the past 3 1/2 years. During his failing health Earl and Lola gave him tender and loving care.
Services were conducted at the Miley Chapel Wednesday, May 5, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Pearl Sams officiating. Interment was at the Oxford cemetery.
