Anna married Henry Rausch on August 10, 1899. Henry was born April 25, 1875 in Rockville, Stearns County, Minnesota. In the 1900 census from St. Cloud, Henry was employed as a day laborer. They had two children with the last one, Irma Catherine being born April 23, 1901. Anna passed away, May 4, 1901,from complications of childbirth.
On April 11, 1901 Henry left home, after telling Anna he was going fishing. He never returned. Later, it was stated that he was in Rockville, Minnesota, and then in Paynesville, where he told an acquaintance "Don't tell my wife that you have seen or talked to me. He was not going to return to St. Cloud. Henry had deserted his family. Henry was living in Barnesville, Minnesota in 1926, but it was said that he had gone to North or South Dakota.
