LAKEBAY, Wash. —Karen Barfuss Compton, 64, of Lakebay, Wash., formerly of Bancroft, Idaho, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Wa.
She was born on October 22, 1941, at Bancroft, Idaho, the daughter of Leland and Vivian Marelda Jensen Barfuss. She was raised and educated in Bancroft, graduating from North Gem High School. She also had attended Utah State.
She married Ronie Lee Compton on Nov. 27, 1961, in Ely, Nevada.
Karen had been a clerk in the court system for the city of Seattle.
She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was an avid rodeo fan both in person and on TV.
She is survived by her husband, Ronie Compton, Lakebay, Wash.; four sons; David (Valerie) Compton, Logan, Utah; Ron Compton, Boise, Idaho; Kelvin (Barbara) Compton, Mt. Home, Idaho, and Darren (Julie) Compton, First, Neb.; 4 grandchildren, 1 brother and 1 sister; Burt (Sue) Barfuss and Ruth (Blaine) Priestly, all of Bancroft, Idaho.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 20, at noon at the Bancroft LDS Chapel.
Friends may call at the Bancroft Chapel on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
