Iva Callaway was bon on March 16, 1896, in San Saba County, Texas. Her parents were Gaddah "Gad" Callaway and his wife Laura Kyle Callaway.
When she was 18, on February 27, 1914, Iva married William "Willie" James Wimberley, one of the sons of Isaac Jackson Wimberley and Texana Belle Mayes Wimberley.
Iva and Willie had four children--Damon (who died at age 6 months), Herbert G., Velma Katherine, and Robert Roy--who were all born in Llano County, Texas.
Willie died at the age of 36 in 1933 in Austin, Texas, from an intestinal obstruction. Iva's children were still young when their father died, so Iva had to provide for them. At the end of her life, she was still working as a cook in a Houston hospital. Iva died in 1966 in Houston.
