Jonah Sheppard

Jonah Sheppard, aged 71, a prominent farmer and citizen at Limestone Ridge died at his home Monday evening, June 13 at 8:00 o'clock from the effects of cancer.

Mr. Sheppard was one of our County's most prominent farmers and citizens. He was a lifelong resident of our County and was a member of the Pisgah M. E. Church, South since early boyhood.

He is survived by his widow, Alice Hendricks Sheppard and the following children: Ota F. Sheppard of Vienna; Burley C. Sheppard and Mrs. Clara Courtney of R. 1, Elizabeth; Mrs. R? Ott and Mrs. Ercil Daughtery of Route 2, Palestine; Virgil A. Sheppard of Vienna; Theodore and Claude Sheppard, both of Mineral Wells; Russel G. Sheppard of Burlington, V?; Robert H. Sheppard at home and Mrs. Elma Leonard of Route 3, Elizabeth, also are surviving a sister, Mrs. C. M. Kiger, of Bonz and twenty three grandchildren.

The funeral was held from the Visgah (probably Pisgah) Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Interment in the Church cemetery
