PIEDMONT - Ada P. (Pigsley) Triggs, 78, Piedmont, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital of heart failure.
Memorial services, conducted by Chaplain Ned Wick, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at the Piedmont Valley American Legion Hall. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Ada was born March 22, 1924, in Colome, to William and Ethel (Beam) Pigsley. She graduated from Rapid City High School in 1941 and married Myrel C. Triggs on Dec. 18, 1942.
She was a homemaker until their purchase of the Hiway Bar and Cafe in 1968, and subsequently moved to Piedmont.
She lived for her family, flowers, and gardening.
She was a past TOPS #70 Queen, the 1998 Piedmont Valley Post Legionette of the Year, and member of Piedmont Senior Citizens.
Although born with a heart defect, many will remember her years of jogging, then walking around Piedmont.
Survivors include her husband, Myrel of Piedmont; son and wife, Jim and Jenny Triggs.; daughter and husband, Sheryl and Bill Flohr; brothers, Elra and Cecil Pigsley; grandchildren, Tonya and husband, Nick Adams, Brent Triggs, Angela and husband, Chris Young, Michael and wife Nadia Flohr; and three great-grandchildren, Natasha Adams and Caitlin and Cameron Young.
The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #311 or to the Piedmont Senior Citizens.
Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis is in charge of arrangements.Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Blessed Sacrament Church, with the Rev. Ron Garry presiding. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with military honors provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 of Rapid City.
A memorial has been established.
