A native of Andrew county, Mrs. Abbott lived in the Union Star community all of her life. She was a member of the Flag Springs Baptist church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Mannie Abbott, a son Edgar Abbott who was killed in the invasion of Normandy on June 17, 1944 and one daughter, Mrs. Doris Gay. She is survived by one son Glenn Abbott of King City; one sister Pearl Shultz of Lenaphan, Okla.; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held on Friday, Oct 9, at the Clark Chapel, conducted by Rev. Gary Shoemaker. Music was provided by Mrs. Norma Clark and Mrs. Beverly Carlson, accompanied by Mrs. Anna Lou Gibson. Pallbearers were, Lawrence Shores, Clayton Gibson, Leroy Bashor, Ralph Veale, Dr. Vick Walker and Vernon Andrews. Burial was in the King City cemetery.
