Reared in Madison County. When he was 21 years old, he attended school in Madisonville, Texas one term and received a first grade certificate to teach. In all, he taught ten years in his own community. In 1923, moved to San Antonio, Texas to study to become a Doctor of Chirapractic. After finishing this course, moved to El Campo, Texas, where he practiced nine years. Then moved back to his farm in Madison County on December 23, 1933 where he continued his Chiropractic service. He was also a land surveyor for years.
