Emma Smebak was born to Paul & Mathea (Olsdatter) Berg. She was child # 4 of seven children. Her siblings were: Melcor, Ole, Joseph, Carrie, Palmer and Marvin. She grew up in a farming family and married the boy from a neighboring farm. Emma and Gustav Troseth were married on the 26th of March, 1915. She brought a son Emanuel Berg into the marriage and the couple added four more children: Myrtle Adeline, George, Clifford Melvin and Stella Pauline. Emma passed away at 37 years living behind her young children.
