Nathan Barrett, son of Col. James Barrett and Rebecca Hubbard, was b. 30 Dec
1735 at Concord. There he married, 22 May 1760, Miriam Hunt, with whom he had 14
children. He was severely wounded in the Concord fight while serving with the
militia troops under his father. He recovered and served as a major under his
kinsman Gen. Eleazer Brooks, guarding Washington's fortifications on Dorchester
Heights. Promoted Lt. Co., 1779.
