David Arlen Sallee was born May 31, 1950 in Anderson, Indiana, the son of William Vernon Hendren and Eula Leah Alcestes Hendren. He married Barbara Sallee on August 28, 1969 in El Paso, Texas. She preceded him in death on September 7, 2004 in Sallisaw, Ok. Mr. Sallee passed this life on July 27, 2009 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 59 years, 1 month and 26 days. He is survived by his daughter, Velma Dickerson of Sallisaw, OK; 2 sons, Floyd Sallee of Fayetteville, AR and Bill Sallee of Grand Prairie, TX; 9 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Wilma Stanley of Kentucky, Rebecca Snelson of Texas, Velma Hart of Sulpher, OK, and Beverly Brandis of Weatherford, TX; 2 brothers, Buck Hendren of Indiana and Vernon Hendren of Gunbarrell, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife: Barbara Sallee, his parents, William and Eula Hendren; 1 brother, Bill Hendren; 1 daughter, Lea Sallee; 1 grandson, Maverick Sallee and 1 niece, Hatty Favorice. Services will be July 30, 2009 at 10 am graveside at Akins Cemetery. Rev. Steve Suttmiller will officiate.
