Mr. W. Benson Marsh died at his home in Marshville last Friday morning, May 17th. Mr. Marsh was born in 1819 and was a little over 87 years old. He was thrice married, first to Miss Mary White, daughter of the late Capt. James White. His second wife was Mrs. Harriett Rushing, whose maiden name was Parker, a daughter of the late Stephen Parker. His third wife, who survives him, was Mrs. Clementine Little, a daughter of the late Charley P. Griffin, Sr. He is survived by two sons, Mr. H. B. Marsh, manager of the Marsh-Lee Company, and Rev. A. Marsh of this township. There are also two surviving daughters, Mrs. Ellen Barrino and Mrs. T. B. Hamilton. His descendants number 80 - 48 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Deceased was a member of the Baptist church at Marshville. His remains were interred with Masonic ceremonies at Bethel church, in south Marshville township, last Saturday afternoon in the presence of a large crowd of relatives and friends. The late J. W. Marsh, who was perhaps the most popular business man that ever lived in the county, was a son of the deceased.
