Mrs. Elza Runyon, widow of the late James Runyon , was born in Knox County, Kentucky July 21, 1889 the daughter of Steve McCoy and Angline Hamblin and departed this life in the Knox County General Hospital June 21, 1968. She was 79 years old.
She was a member of the Litlle Poplar Creek Baptist Church. On Sept 4, 1907 she was united in marriage to Mr. James Runyon, and to this union twelve children were barn (sic). Her husband and two children preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church Sunday, June 23, 1968 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Philpot and Rev. Tusco Merritt officiating. Interment was in the Ketchen Cemetery with the Hopper Funeral Home in charge.
