MARY JANE OXENREIDER
Mary Jane, daughter of Ezra and Marie Edgar Allison, was born Sept. 6, 1879, in Cedar township and departed from this life Oct. 9, 1957, at Chariton at the age of 78 years, one month and three days.
She was united in marriage to Orlo Judson Oxenreider, July 12, 1899, and to this union were born three sons and three daughters, Vashti, George, Jay, Veneta, Ruth and Frank.
She was a member of the Lacona Christian church.
She is survived by her husband and three daughters, Vashti Godlove of Lacona; Veneta Gillaspy and Ruth Durham of Chariton; two sons, Jay of Billings, Mont.; and Frank of Willmar, Minn., 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Lena Minnick and Mrs. Pearl Criley of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her son, George, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 12, at the Lacona Christian church, with the Rev. D. M. Pierce officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
