Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorsie Pirkle McComb, 84, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 31, 2007, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. McComb was born on May 29, 1923 and died on August 26, 2007 at her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe. As a pastor's wife for many years, she served her Lord in many capacities. She taught Sunday School from the cradle roll to senior adults. She was active in all missionary organizations and taught many book studies for WMU.

She was the fourth of six children born to Burl and Eula Pirkle of Oxford, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Paul James McComb and her daughters, Linda Marie McComb, in infancy, and Jane McComb Masters.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughters and their husbands, Myra and Harry Porter, and Joyce and Billy Howell, all of Monroe; her son-in-law, Dr. Ronald Masters of Clinton, MO; nine grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Rosalind Stegall of Port Neches, TX, and Mrs. Jean Rinehart of Weaver, AL; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Vera Pirkle of Oxford, AL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, John Paul Howell, Charles Porter, Daniel Reed, Michael Singleton, Scott Norris, Mark Cook, and David Griggs.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.
